Calculating on calculated fields

I am trying to sum on a field that I am calculating per group. Each group has a field that has to be evaluated, one query column times another query column, summed, not to exceed 3. This field needs to be summed at the end of the report. If doing a regular calculated field I get an answer of 54 when it should be 30. Any suggestions?
